Do The Work, Get The Gain!

Eleven men joined your YHC for a warm and humid workout this morning.  I’ve been seeing quite a few beach pictures on Facebook lately so I was inspired to bring out one of my workout routines which I haven’t run in a while – The Starfish.  Here’s what we did:

Warm Up:  Slow mosey around the shopping complex until we arrived at the flag where Tinker Toy lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  We then proceeded to the COP and did the following:

25 Side Straddle Hops IC, 25 MNC IC, 15 Cherry Pickers IC, dynamic stretching of calves and hamstrings, 15 low slow squats IC, 10 merkins IC

Workout:  Starfish routine (round 1) with the following exercise:  10 burpees every time in the center, 50 merkins on a leg, 50 squats on a leg, 50 LBCs on a leg, and 25 pike presses on a leg.  Total reps were 50 Burpees, 50 merkins, 50 squats, 25 pike presses.  After a ten count, performed 60 IC flutter kicks followed by 60 seconds of heels 6 inches off  ground.  After a 10 count, Starfish routine (round 2) with the following exercises:  5 burpees every time in center, 25 merkins on a leg, 25 squats on a leg, 25 LBCs on a leg, and 25 pike presses on a leg.  Total reps were 25 burpees, 25 merkins, 25 squats, and 25 pike presses.   After a ten count, performed 40 IC flutter kicks followed by 40 IC Freddie Mercury’s.  Another 10 count, then ran “Elevens” (10 -1, 9-2, 8-3,…… until finished) with body squats and diamond merkins as the chosen exercises.  Afterwards, we talked a bit about “Sacrifice” and then finished up with heels 6 inches off  ground for 60 seconds and 25 side straddle hops.

Moleskin:  This month’s word for the region is “Sacrifice”.  I shared that many men and women made the ultimate sacrifice with their lives to start and keep our country free and that we should keep those presently serving in our prayers.  I spoke about the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the Cross to save us and keep us within God’s family and to put us on the road to Heaven.  I also shared that even those who are not saved right now have not truly experienced the total separation from God and that if there was anyone who had not accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, to please consider it and speak with a known follower of Christ within the PAX.  If a person rejects Christ, then that person will experience total separation from God at judgement day and will experience the full measure of Hell (which Jesus described as an existence with “gnashing of teeth” and extreme suffering that will last for eternity).  It literally is a matter of life and death, so I implore all those who don’t know Christ to please accept Him into your heart today.
