Don’t Be Distracted

4 HIMS gather today in the Gloom at Wally World / Falcon Zero on cold morning to get in a few miles.  All decided to run on the sidewalks and not on the track so that’s what we did.  No FNG’s were present and 3 members of the Nearly Respectables and Penny were off to take on the Popeye loop –

The Thang –

We got our gear together and were well lit practicing good safety that Samurai has been pushing PAX across the Region to practice.  The Popeye loop is simple and safe.  We headed out left at the entrance, down the side road, left on Cherry, left on Oakland, left on Eden Terrace and back to the AO.  Penny and I took a dip behind the Winthrop Coliseum for a bit more and we finished together with 2 laps around the track.  We pretty much stayed together for the duration of the 5+ miles and the conversations were great, ranging from safety, to work, to family to name a few

We gathered back at COT and closed with a few announcements (read your newsletter), along with a few prayers & praises.  YHC shared with the PAX that my M was in a car accident the prior day, rear ended by a distracted driver.  YHC reminded the PAX to practice good driving safety and urge those close to you in your sphere of influence to do the same.  No text is worth a life.  My M is fine, a little banged up and a little sore but alive and mostly well.  Safety is no joke, but it requires being intentional.  If you’re running, assume you can’t be seen and wear light and reflective gear.  If you’re driving, leave the phone alone – it can wait.  Thanks Penny Pincher for the opportunity to lead today.  It’s always an honor to do so

Ponytail out –
