10 at ManU on 2/21/19

    • When: 02/21/19
    • QIC: WhiteHat
    • The PAX: Italian Job, Kevlar, Anchor Bar (R), Smiley Face (R), Socrates, Atticus, Fryin' Pan, Catfish, Windex

We had 10 HIMs gather on a dark, damp Thursday at ManU.  There were no FNGs present so after a quick disclaimer we launched into the signature WhiteHat warmup:

20 SSH IC
12 Windmills IC
12 Cherry-pickers IC
Right over left
Left over right
12 Imperial walkers IC
12 Hillbilly walkers IC

We then moseyed down to and around the Events at Manchester building before engaging in some alternating bear crawl/crab walk.

It was at this point that the rain began pouring so we headed to the overhang at the movie theater to continue our “fun”.

Here we engaged in some merkins, squats, LBC’s, CDD’s, lunges, and freddie Mercury’s, all IC x10

After a short visit from the Wally World boys we launched into everyone’s favorite exercise: BURPEES!
5 burpees OYO
4 burpees OYO
3 burpees OYO
2 burpees OYO
I was going to do 1 burpee OYO but 1 just wasn’t a round enough number for me so we did 10 instead. Anchor Bar was less than pleased and informed me that he knows of a good place to hide bodies if I wanted to continue with the burpee torture.

Then we moseyed over to the fountain where we engaged in some irkins and dips before heading to the parking lot in front of Dicks for some parking line to parking line fun:
High knees
Butt kickers
Side shuffle left, right
Carioca left, right
Toy soldiers
Lt. Dan’s

Then we alternated mosey and sprint between parking lines.
Finally we alternated between mosey and nur between parking lines.

We then headed over to the overhang at Books a Million for some more fun:
Wide arm merkins, wide leg squats, flutter kicks – all IC x10

Once we finished with these I took the opportunity to share some about Agape love:
AGAPE – The type of love that characterizes God is not a sappy, sentimental feeling such as we often hear portrayed. God loves because that is His nature and the expression of His being. He loves the unlovable and the unlovely, not because we deserve to be loved or because of any excellence we possess, but because it is His nature to love and He must be true to His nature.

Agape love is always shown by what it does. God’s love is displayed most clearly at the cross. “God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved” (Ephesians 2:4–5, ESV). We did not deserve such a sacrifice, “but God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God’s agape love is unmerited, gracious, and constantly seeking the benefit of the ones He loves. The Bible says we are the undeserving recipients of His lavish agape love (1 John 3:1). God’s demonstration of agape love led to the sacrifice of the Son of God for those He loves.

We then moseyed over to TJ Maxx, stopping along the way to return some shopping carts.

We knocked out a few more exercises in front of TJ Maxx:

Diamond merkins, calf raises, leg throws – all IC x10

After that we moseyed (the long way) back to the COT where we finished out with some arm burn: a series of arm exercises performed IC without lowering arms between the sets: small circles forward and back, straight up circles, presses, overhead claps, Moroccan night clubs, seal claps

By that time our runners and walkers had returned to join us at the COT where I pointed out that I still showed sad clown tendencies despite my physical transformation.  There are so many struggles in my life that I continue to engage on a regular basis.  However, God’s agape love is sufficient for each of us and we are treated with grace, mercy, and love even (and especially) when we fail.

Announcements (Yeti, Rooster, etc)

Prayers/praises (Catfish’s father (cancer), among others)

Closed out with a brief prayer (Tebow style)

Thanks to Socrates for the opportunity to lead.  It is always a privilege to lead a workout and serve my F3 brothers.  Until next time, WhiteHat out!
