4 HIMS of the Rock Region gathered today at Bunker Hill to join in the fellowship and sharpen each other. PCH and I moseyed around for a brief pre-run and were joined by 2 other HIMS. At the appointed hour we gathered for a warm-up. No FNG’s were present so YHC provided a brief disclaimer and asked everyone to push and encourage one another. The warm-up included SSH, Merkins, cherry pickers, seal jacks & some light stretching
The Thang –
After completing the warm-up we went out for a brief run to get the blood flowing in our legs. We circled across the front entrance to the AO and headed back up the entrance stopping at the street light for Toy soldiers, butt-kickers, and high knees. Then we resumed the run and headed to the drop off circle stopping near the entrance for some ab work. We started in plank and did a set of ATM’s (alternating shoulder taps / tempo merkins / merkins) – a sign of more to come. Then we headed down the circle and YHC explained we were going to do a merkin pyramid with a 40-50 yard dash in between each set. We went up the pyramid in counts of 5,10,15,20,15,10,5 and finished with a 40 yard Lt. Danger. Then we headed back to the circle entrance and found some coupons and did a set of tricep extensions, curls, bent over rows and finished with another set of tricep extensions. After putting away the coupons, we headed down to the playground and did 2 sets of arms hangs on the monkey bars with good 10 counts. Next, we headed to the big hill and the back of the campus and 2 sets of hill sprints and finished with a mosey back to the COT for a good plank where YHC shared the following verse
Psalm 90 : 12-14
Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom, relent Lord, how long will it be? Have compassion on your servants, satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy & be glad all our days
YHC challenged the PAX to think of the things they value, whether that be time, money, a closer relationship with your M or your 2.0’s. Now think of where are you spending your time. Does how you spend your time line up with the things you value? Do you spend too much time on your vocation and not enough with your 2.0’s? In this verse, Moses is speaking to how precious the gift of time is. He considered he might not make it to the promised land. He reminds us to value our time that we might gain a heart of wisdom and recognize how precious time is & that we are not promised the next minute, day or hour, must less tomorrow. Be sure that you consider how you spend your time and use it wisely.
We closed with a few announcements along with prayers and praises, specifically marriages and other health concerns. Thanks PCH for the opportunity to lead this day in the Gloom, it’s always an honor.
