Hammer or Nail

    • When: 08/10/19
    • QIC: Winchester/Reborn
    • The PAX: JAG (R), Samurai (R), Clinger (R), Bulldog, PCH, Money Bags, Winchester, Reborn

As always, it was an honor to lead 6 of the greatest HIM in the F3 Rock Region this gloom at Planet Pain and especially an honor to lead with Winchester. Thank you JAG and the rest of the PAX who decided to join YHC and Winchester today. At 0700 we began with the F3 Disclaimer and the following:

Winchester began with the warmup with a quick mosey to the Trajan in front of Northwestern High School for some rounds of football themed warmups.

Then we took another mosey back lot of Northwestern for a round of Lucky 7’s. This I believe was the highlight of the day.

After that Winchester decided to kick off the football season with a little bit of summer conditioning. We did 7-Merkins, 7-Squats, & 7-Burpees 7 times, and when we were finished we felt like all we wanted to do with football was sit on the couch and watch.

Before leaving the parking lot we did some more up downs and then Winchester shared his heart on what is below in the NMM.

Looking at my watch we still had 30-Minutes to go. Ugh!

After Winchester handed the Q off to YHC we headed over to the concrete bleachers at the tennis courts that Ponytail said the past week . . . ‘This is an underutilized area of this AO.’ Well Ponytail, this should make you and everyone else happy.

We performed the following on the bleachers: All in cadence Irkins, Dips, Step-Ups, Derkins (Regular, Wide-Armed, and Diamond), and Calf Raises

Then we took a mosey over the the track. YHC asked the PAX to perform 5 reps of 4 exercises in cadence at each ‘corner’ of the track and sprint between the areas of exercises. The exercises were Merkins, CDD’s, Low Slow Squats, and Big Boy Sit-ups.

Then we took a mosey back to the COT and we arrived right at 0800. Thank you all for joining today. It was balmy hot (felt like F3 Suncoast) this morning and you all did an awesome job.

Winchester shared the following:

“Once I had a football coach who told us a quote that I still live by today . . . ‘You will get hit, that is inevitable. The question is will you be the hammer or the nail?’ Winchester and the rest of us should live by this quote. Live like the hammer and not the nail. Whether it be at work, with our brothers, or at home.

Winchester’s go to passage for strength and encouragement is John 15:1-8

John 15:1 says ‘I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser’ and John 15:5 says ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.’

If you are abiding in Christ, you will inevitably bear fruit. God is continuously pruning you to be more like Christ each day.
