Thank you Roxanne and 2.0’s for the opportunity to lead at The Backyard. For some time now Chatterbox has been asking when we were having another F3 Dads workout. He was so excited (and so was I) when I finally told him this weekend.
If you have not had the chance to take your 2.0’s to this precious time together, you should make it a priority to do soon. Even if you have grandchildren, bring them. You won’t regret it.
We started the WO with some simple WarmUp moves such as Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, & Low Slow Squats (yes, everything but the Peter Parker Peters).
Then we moved over to the big field where YHC requested everyone line up facing the same direction with about 5 feet in between each person. Then the first person at the end of the line crawled under the first person and jumped over the second, and so on until every person had the chance to go. This turned into a lot of fun for everyone (all boys today so you can only imagine).
Then we had some good times playing some Knock Out on the basketball court and the some Polish Kickball on the field. The Polish Kickball got a little crazy, but we had a ball.
After about 50-minutes of fun, YHC had everyone sit in a circle so we could talk. YHC shared to the 2.0s that when they should cherish the moments that they are able to have with their fathers, especially when having fun. Not all of life will be filled with fun moments but they make the best memories.
Then YHC shared to the PAX they should also cherish these moments, but to take it one step further. You have to create the moments to be cherished by your 2.0s. That is our responsibility not theirs. They are always available and you have to make yourself available for them. So the next time they ask to throw the ball, help with homework, or just sit on the couch . . . DO IT!
We ended the day with announcements and lifted prayers.
