Thank you to the 7 PAX who showed up to Planet Pain on this cloudy wet gloom to sharpen iron and push each other. It was also great to have a short run with Mayflower and JAG prior to the WO. It was an awesome time and if you miss it, well, you missed out. Thank you to Bulldog for allowing Big Mac and I lead this morning.
We began the morning with the following in cadence: Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Low Slow Squats, Peter Parker Peters, Merkins, and 10 6-Count Burpees. We then took a mosey over to the tennis courts for a round of the following all in cadence two times: Irkins, Dips, Step-Ups, & Derkins.
After this everyone was pretty much warm, so we headed over the track for a series of 11’s with Burpees & Bombjacks. When my time was up we stopped for everyone to rally back at the start point for another round of 6-count burpees.
Then we took a mosey over to the western parking lot of the west of ATC for the following led by Big Mac: Board of Pain with Cindy. Partner up with 1-Partner performing the exercise and the other running across the parking lot stopping at the curb for 5 Mike Tysons each time. The exercises with Cindy were 100 Block Swings, 200 Goblet Squats, & 300 Overhead Presses. This almost took the life out of everyone.
Once finished we picked up Cindy to take them back to the COT where we finished out the 60-Min. with some calf raises & low slow squats.
Before you read the NMM, please know I am a Christian and the following is based on what I believe.
Those of us who are on The Journey (a study in our F3 Region) have recently read a book about Abiding in God through Christ and the Spirit. This book was extremely impactful as it discusses the relationship of the grapevine and vine dresser as explained in John 15.
The book explains in an allegory the manner a vine dresser prunes and manages the grape vines to create grapes as he wills. It is an extremely powerful book that I would lend and recommend to anyone for reading.
A few days after I read the book, my Verse of the Day was the following verse from 1 John 2:6: ‘whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.’
Whoa. I pondered (and have been pondering) on this verse for a while. I must walk in the same way the person I believe to be my Savior walked. Here are some characteristics of this person to name only a few: compassionate, loving, just, empathetic, bold, humble, prayerful, serving, willing, capable, knowing.
As I read this verse, I see that if I say I abide in my Savior (and if you do the same), I must walk in the same way He did. Man, do I fall short daily.
Thankfully we have one who is all these things and who has made a way for us to be like this through his blood on the cross. This person is Jesus. Because of Jesus and his obedience, we have a Way to God.
During this season, don’t forget why we celebrate Christmas. If you have any questions about your life after this one on earth, please feel free to contact me and I will answer what I can.
