Thank you to the 18 other PAX who showed up to Petra on this cool but humid gloom to share in some great fellowship and nothing but a bootcamp. It was an awesome time and if you miss it, well, you missed out. Thank you to White Hat for allowing YHC to lead this morning. All men did an awesome job. After the F3 Disclaimer, we started with the warmup.
We began the warmup with the following in cadence: Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Low Slow Squats, Peter Parker Peters, Merkins, and 10 6-Count Burpees.
After the warmup we took a short mosey around the parking lot where YHC explained to the PAX abut a workout from the past (somewhat). In the workout from the past, YHC had set up 4 pain stations at the four ‘corners’ of the pond at Manchester Park with multiple exercises listed on them.
Today, YHC had set up four corners around the Petra parking lot and a central area (the flag) to mimic the workout from ManU. The PAX were to mosey from the flag to the first corner and perform the first exercise on the sheet located at the corner; then move on to the next corner and perform the first exercise; and so on. Once the PAX arrived at the fourth corner and had completed the exercise, they were to mosey back to the starting point at the flag and perform the base exercise until the 6 had made it back.
The exercises at the corners were as follows:
Round 1: 20 Merkins, 20 Lunges (10-Each Leg), 20 Carolina Dry Docks, 20 LBC’s.
Round 2: 20 Diamond Merkins, 20 Jump Squats, 20 Pike Presses, 20 V-Ups.
Round 3: 20 Burpees, 20 Low Slow Jump Squats, 20 Mike Tysons, 20 Big Boy Sit-ups.
The exercises at the shelter were as follows:
Round 1, Hand Release Merkins; Round 2, Apollo Ohno’s; Round 3, Burpees.
Once we finished this we performed the following in cadence: Merkins, Frogger Squats, Lunges, V-Ups, Carolina Dry Docks, and Lunges, & Flutters.
Fantastic work was put in by all PAX in attendance today. Thank you for being there.
This passage has been laying heavily on me lately. As we have gone through a period of seclusion, confusion, and even exclusion we have all had time to accelerate at something. I have had a good chance to reconnect with my family and read the Bible more. Almost as much as I did when I was in Recovery.
This verse has laid heavily on me as I was reading through Colossians recently.
Colossians 3:16-17 ‘Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.’
Let the word dwell in you. This to me means allow the word to be a part of your innermost being. Do not allow outside distractions, whatever that may mean to you, allow you to be pulled from God. Teach and admonish one another but do it in wisdom and love that comes from the word that is dwelling in you. Sing songs and worship with thankfulness to the Lord.
Verse 17 has been what I have been pondering on lately. Always do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks. To do everything in the name of the Lord, you must have a relationship with him. Oh, how many people do not have that relationship with Jesus. I must do better in life to share the Good News of Jesus.
Always give thanks to God. If I am to do this, I must have a faith that is unwavering and not allow those outside forces to wedge anything between me and Him.
Let us know Christ, do all we can to go through our lives in the name of the Lord, and always give thanks to God.
