Thank you to the 8 PAX who showed up to The Tavern on this wet gloom to share in some great fellowship and nothing but a bootcamp. Thank you to Bubblewrap for allowing me to Q this morning, to Nightcrawler for planting the flag in Bubblewrap’s absence, and for the hard work put in by all men.
Just before 0515 we reviewed the 5 Core Principles of F3. After YHC gave the F3 Disclaimer, we started with the warmup.
We began the warmup with the following in cadence: Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Low Slow Squats, Peter Parker Peters, Merkins, and 10 6-Count Burpees.
After the warmup we took a short mosey across Celanese to the lot in front of the building with the only stairs at this AO. YHC then asked the PAX to partner up with another brother (size does not matter). YHC then told the PAX what we were going to do today. We were going to deconstruct a burpee and then construct it back again. We started with one partner running to and up the stairs, across the landing and back down the other set of stairs while the other partner performed an exercise. Then flapjack: partner 1 does the exercise and partner 2 runs.
The exercises at the bottom were 6- count burpees; squats; hip thrusters; Merkins; hip thrusters; and jump squats. Then we rebuilt the burpee with jump squats, hip thrusters; Merkins; hip thrusters; squats; and 6-count burpees.
After that we had some time to head back to the COT with a stop at the parking area for a little bit of in cadence work with the following exercises: Squats, Merkins, Carolina Dry Docks, Static Lunges.
Fantastic work was put in by all PAX in attendance today. Thank you for being there.
What are you men doing today that requires faith? I was recently doing a weeklong Bible Study with brothers from around the world and this was the question of the final day of the study. I had to sit there for a while and ask myself the question over and over.
What am I doing today that requires faith? True faith.
It is not that I was struggling with the question, but that I was struggling with the answer. Do I have the faith mentioned in the Bible that I can move mountains with? If I do have that type of faith, am I practicing that faith? Is it an active faith or passive? Where in my life can I see myself needing more faith to move?
I have been reflecting on this over the past days, and I want to challenge you to do the same. What are you doing today that requires faith?
Luke 17:5-6 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
“Dear God, give me the faith of a mustard seed to do mighty and awesome things for you in our community and beyond.”
