Pulled in at 05:12 and and standing under the glow of parking lot lights were several PAX preparing themselves for a ruck workout or weightless boot with me. It was good to see some faces I haven’t seen in months and to also see those faces in the gloom. At 05:15 a disclaimer was given and we proceeded.

I shared with the PAX that I have started listening to a lot of sermons during my daily travels with work. I just recently listened to one on Anxiety. At first I thought I’m not anxious but this seems like an appropriate topic considering all that is going on in the world. And I heard something I have never been taught before which is the relationship between humility and anxiety. It was explained that “where anxiety is present humility is absent.”

Please see one of Alistair Begg’s points below. I hope this is an encouragement to you as it has been to me.

“Our willingness not to take matters into are own hands, not to struggle in self pity and anxiety is actually an expression of humility. We are then able to remove our hands from the steering wheel and have a Father who is guiding the operation. We are able to lay our head on the pillow knowing our Father neither slumbers nor sleeps.”

-Alistair Begg (TruthForLife.org)

Anxiety is everywhere and isn’t often recognized until we actively pray/seek to hand worries, doubts, and consuming thoughts over to the one who can carry it all. Pax, don’t try to control what you cannot by allowing worry (continued thought) to distract you from the freedom we can have in God. This can keep us from committing to things that we need to commit to that will allow us to have the most impact in our homes, with our families, and friends.
