Share your Burdens

    • When: 05/29/20
    • QIC: Reborn
    • The PAX: Ponytail (R), Zebra (R), Jester, Herbie, Smokey, Reborn

Thank you to the 5 other PAX who showed up to The Commons on this muggy gloom to sharpen iron and push each other. It was an awesome time and if you miss it, well, you missed out. Thank you to Smokey for allowing YHC to lead this morning.

We began the morning with the following in cadence: Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Low Slow Squats, Merkins, Peter Parker Peters, and 10 6-Count Burpees.

After this everyone was pretty much warm, so I informed the PAX we would be doing Pearls on a String this morning. We took a mosey and stopped every so often performing exercises in cadence.

Stop 1: Merkins, Carolina Dry Docks, Squats, LBC’s.

Stop 2: Two rounds of Irkins, Dips, Step-Ups, Derkins (Regular then Diamond).

Stop 3: Coupon Curls, Coupon Tricep Extensions, Coupon Overhead Presses, Squats.

Stop 4: Alternating between Staggered Merkins, Static Lunges, and Calf Raises.

Stop 5: Peter Parker Peters, Declined Peter Parker Peters, Pike Presses, Dips, Declined Peter Parker Peters.

Then we took a mosey back to the COT.

Great work was put in by all men this morning. Thank you again for showing up and enjoying the gloom together.

I have seen a lot of men in F3 and other places attempt to carry a lot on their own shoulders recently. From men who are attempting to deal with family stress, mental battles, and even physical inactivity. This is concerning to me, especially in F3. Men are not built to carry all the burdens of life alone without other men. This is one of the reasons the Bible states the following verse: ‘Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.’ – Proverbs 27:17

Now, you may think this verse is overused, but it is completely true. Men need men. Iron sharpens iron, just as one man sharpens another.

On another note, men are not alone in the battle. We have someone who has already won the battle over all the cares and worries of this world. So, we as a group of men are told to cast our burdens on the Lord. For me that is Jesus Christ.

‘Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.’ – Psalm 55:22

Two challenges this morning. One. Find another man or a group of men to Shield Lock with to share your burdens you may have. Let him into your heart and mind and be real. Do not lie, and always lean on each other.

Second, give your burden to Jesus, because with Him on our side, we as men will be sustained through the hills and valleys of life.
