Thank you to the 13 PAX who showed up to Independence on this cool summer gloom to share in some great fellowship and a good old fashioned bootcamp. Thank you to Chuckie for allowing YHC to lead this morning. Great work was put in by all PAX in attendance and the mumblechatter was high, which is great. After the F3 disclaimer was given YHC led in the warmup.
We began the warmup with the following in cadence: Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Low Slow Squats, Peter Parker Peters, Merkins, and 10 6-Count Burpees. At this point we took a short stroll over to the front of Tillman Hall at Winthrop for a Lancelot led Pledge of Allegiance to the USA.
After the warmup we took a short mosey to the center of Campus Greens. At the bottom of the hill of Campus Greens, YHC informed the PAX we were planning to spend some time at that location for a while (the remaining portion of the morning). We were going to perform multiple series of Jacob’s Ladder. Below is what we did.
Round One: Bottom-Jump Squats; Top-Merkins.
Round Two: Bottom-Lateral Lunges (Dbl. Count); Top-Makhtar-N’Diayes.
Then we took a mosey back to the COT to finish the last one.
Round Three: Bottom- Jump Lunges (Dbl. Count); Top-Diamond Merkins.
At the points where YHC felt the PAX needed a 10-count, portions of the NMM was discussed.
Fantastic work was put in by all PAX attending today to support the Site Q and YHC. Thank you for being there.
Our nation is currently in an upheaval of different emotions at all levels. If you watch the news, you go from COVID-19 to the launch of the manned Space-X Rocket to riots and looting in streets of cities throughout the nation. Our minds can be tossed to and from if we are not careful.
My question to the brothers today as we were working out was what/who are you leaning on that is unshakable? If you are not careful and allow yourself to be driven by your emotions, you will be left wandering in the wilderness and wondering what it all means. However, if you are driven by your beliefs and your mission, if it is positive, you will have a direct path in life.
Men do not get caught up in the latest and greatest news story or social media feed/post. Stay focused on your mission, speak impeccable words, hold each other accountable, and lean on the beliefs of your heart.
For me that Rock is Jesus Christ and that Mission is defined. With both of those I cannot be shaken. I may fail, but that is when I learn. It is the same for you if you do the same.
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. – Psalm 18:2
