The Greatest Commandment

    • When: 6/15/20

11 PAX of the Rock Region gathered on a cool morning at Old Town for what would be a fun morning.  No FNG’s were present so a brief disclaimer was provided and we proceeded to begin with the warm-up which included SSH, seal jacks, some light stretching, cherry pickers & merkins.  The plan today was to move around a bit and mix in some boot so off we went.

The Thang –

Our first stop was the stage at Fountain Park where we began with 5 burpees / 10 merkins / 15 squats followed by 6 inches and more ab work including alternating shoulder taps & dying cockroaches.  Next we went past the hot box and into St John’s entrance for 5 burpees / 10 merkins / 15 squats and then down Charlotte to the launch point for Saturday’s Hog & Coyote (hope to see you there) where we did 5/10/15 same as before.  Then we went down Charlotte and turned left and left on Oakland over Dave Lyle and stopped at the pull up bars where each PAX did 5/10/15 followed by 10 pull-ups each while the rest of the group did other stuff including Eskimo merkins, flutters, 6 inches.  Next we went up Oakland and stopped at the entrance to the hot box for 5/10/15 followed by people’s chair with shoulders knees & toes and 6 inches followed by down under sets on the wall and reversed with legs on the wall.  Next we headed up Main Street and stopped where Canseco led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Burgundy peeled off to head to work and spin tunes while the rest of us headed to the ampitheatre where we did a set of leg lifts and dips followed by a set of Irkins – 10 at each level and 10 maktar n’dyea’s at the top.  Time was running short so we headed back and closed out the morning with some Ab lab and COT –

YHC shared the following verse –

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind – This is the first & greatest commandment.  And the second is like it – Love your neighbor as yourself.

Matthew 22: 37-39

This verse has been in front of me and on my mind for the last several weeks and during these times when the general tone in our world is less than desired.  My challenge for the PAX today was to think about this verse and do what they can in their spheres of influence to simply love God & love one another.  It sounds easy but we all fall short from time to time

Today was a great morning – a ton of laughs and great mumblechatter.  Thanks Canseco for the opportunity to lead

Ponytail out –
