5 HIMS of the Rock Region gathered this morning at PHOP to pick up things and enjoy the Gloom together.  It was a nice cool morning which was very welcome.  Several guys were doing pre run & ruck stuff and at 0515 we gathered for the warm-up which consisted of SSH, windmills, cherry pickers and a few merkins tossed in.  Once we had warmed up a bit we headed back to the shed out back and each of the PAX was asked to grab a coupon –

The Thang –

Once we grabbed our coupons we headed up to the front of the church at the drop off line and left our blocks for some other stuff to come.  After we dropped off our blocks we headed over to the front door of the church and did a set of ATM’s (alternating shoulder taps / Tempo merkins / merkins) followed by a quick round of ab lab to get our cores engaged.  Then we headed back down to the coupons and did a Gorilla Complex – a new exercise I came across in the Exicon and wanted to try it out.  It goes like this – we did 8 rounds of 8 reps of the following exercises:  Curls / Presses / Tricep extensions / merkins – with a 40-50 yard run in between each set.  It was pretty tough but all of the PAX did a great job pushing through.  Afterward we carried our coupons back to the COT area for a set of 7’s with Man Makers & squats.  We finished up the coupon work with a Bill Nye favorite bear crawl coupon pulls with a hairburner for the finish.  We returned the coupons to the shed and did a cool down lap around the building and finished on time.  All of the PAX did a great job and YHC enjoyed the mumblechatter –

As we gathered in COT YHC shared the following verse from John 15: 1-5

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.  You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

The word for the month is Salvation and this verse spoke to me that apart from Christ we cannot do anything.  He has sustained us up to this very minute and we are not promised the next minute.  He is the only way to Salvation and YHC encouraged the PAX to speak boldly if or when asked about Salvation for he is the True Vine & we are the branches –

We closed with a few announcements and went around the horn for prayers & praises and lifted those spoken and unspoken in prayer to close out the morning –

Thanks Tinker Toy for the opportunity to lead this morning, it’s always an honor to do so –
