    • QIC: Jester
    • The PAX: Rider, Italian Job, Jekyll, Walker, Reborn, Ponytail and Jester

7 #HIM’s met up in the gloom this morning at BeTheChange for some rack and stack boot involving cindy along with some words being shared regarding Truth Be Told courtesy of Matthew West.

THE THANG:

  • Warm Up:

    • Windmills – 10 in Cadence
    • Moroccan Night Clubs – 10 in Cadence
    • Overhead Claps – 10 in Cadence
  • Mosey to the front of the Graybar building for Rack and Stack set:
    • Run to point B “rack” – 5 burpees each time before picking up a card from the “stack” and return to point A.
    • Run back to point A with “stack” card and perform exercise on card. Repeat and complete each exercise that has been previously stacked each time until last stack card has been stacked and exercise has been completed:
      • 5 merkins
      • 10 chest presses with cindy
      • 15 mountain climbers (15 each leg)
      • 20 triceps extensions with cindy
      • 25 flutter kicks (25 each leg)
      • 30 bicep curls with cindy
      • 35 squats
      • 40 rows with cindy
      • 45 shoulder taps (45 each shoulder)
      • 50 big boy sit ups
  • Mosey back to COT for truth be told plank – hold plank position with elbows down while listening to Matthew West’s song Truth Be Told (3:48). Unfortunately, time ran short during rack and stack that YHC was unable to play the full song. So, YHC read the first two voices to the PAX upon returning back to COT. The lyrics to this song are as follows:

Lie number one you’re supposed to have it all together
And when they ask how you’re doing
Just smile and tell them, “Never better”

Lie number 2 everybody’s life is perfect except yours
So keep your messes and your wounds
And your secrets safe with you behind closed doors

Truth be told
The truth is rarely told, now

I say I’m fine, yeah I’m fine oh I’m fine, hey I’m fine but I’m not
I’m broken
And when it’s out of control I say it’s under control but it’s not
And you know it
I don’t know why it’s so hard to admit it
When being honest is the only way to fix it
There’s no failure, no fall
There’s no sin you don’t already know
So let the truth be told

There’s a sign on the door, says, “Come as you are” but I doubt it
‘Cause if we lived like it was true, every Sunday morning pew would be crowded
But didn’t you say the church should look more like a hospital
A safe place for the sick, the sinner and the scarred and the prodigals
Like me

Well truth be told
The truth is rarely told
Oh am I the only one who says

I’m fine, yeah I’m fine oh I’m fine, hey I’m fine but I’m not
I’m broken
And when it’s out of control I say it’s under control but it’s not
And you know it
I don’t know why it’s so hard to admit it
When being honest is the only way to fix it
There’s no failure, no fall
There’s no sin you don’t already know
So let the truth be told

Can I really stand here unashamed
Knowin’ that you love for me won’t change?
Oh God if that’s really true
Then let the truth be told

I say I’m fine, yeah I’m fine oh I’m fine, hey I’m fine but I’m not
I’m broken
And when it’s out of control I say it’s under control but it’s not
And you know it
I don’t know why it’s so hard to admit it
When being honest is the only way to fix it
There’s no failure, no fall
There’s no sin you don’t already know
Yeah I know

There’s no failure, no fall
There’s no sin you don’t already know
So let the truth be told

  • NMM:

YHC was incredibly honored to lead at BTC (BeTheChange) this morning. Bill Nye kicked things off the previous week in excellent fashion as one would expect of Bill Nye. If you have not had a chance to read Bill Nye’s backblast from last week, YHC highly encourages you to do so especially with regard to “just showing up”.

During COT last week, another topic touched upon was the length of time it could possibly take before seeing an IMPACT in the local community in moving the AO from the BTC building to Bethel and this is the focus of YHC with this backblast. The intent of YHC wanting to play the above Matthew West song was not to amp the PAX up for the next exercise like say Smashing Pumpkins, Guns’ & Roses, or whatever your band of choice may be for this purpose. Listening to the lyrics of this song were specifically the intent of YHC in playing this song for the PAX. And, YHC feels they are applicable to what Blueprint and Reborn are trying to accomplish with this AO and the point YHC is trying to make here. If YHC is mistaken or off the mark here, a sincerely apologize to both Blueprint and Reborn.

It is an assumption for sure, but YHC thinks it is fair assumption that we have all been there in replying to a “how are you doing?” with a “never better” or “I’m fine”. In YHC’s opinion, much of this canned or socially acceptable response to a normal everyday interaction we all have with someone else (even in the gloom) boils down to trust the person being asked the question has in the person asking the question and rightfully so. For someone to answer this question honestly from someone else when things really aren’t “better” or “not fine”, trust needs to have been established and earning trust takes time. In the case of YHC, YHC has been part of F3 for a little over three years now. As stated and/or written previously on multiple occasions, it probably took about 18 months or so for YHC to begin buying into the F’s outside of the 1st F. That’s beginning to buy in to the 2nd and 3rd F’s…not fully bought into them. It was probably more along the lines of closer to two years before fully buying into them. This is the point in F3 for YHC where YHC began establishing some relationships with specific PAX where YHC was willing to open up with someone else when the day wasn’t “better” or “fine” and more importantly truly being open to the realization that YHC is broken and begin being open (truly open) to being accountable to a higher power…in YHC’s case that would be Jesus Christ. A little over three years in and this is still a finite population for YHC and YHC is still working on placing full faith in Jesus Christ. It hasn’t been easy and it hasn’t been overnight.

So, the point in all of this is that there could be a whole lot of “never better” or “I’m fine” responses before trust is established and an IMPACT is had with hopefully new PAX making their way out in the gloom at BeTheChange so they, in turn, can make an IMPACT themselves. So, in YHC’s opinion, some P squared (patience and persistence) is going to be needed here. YHC realizes that many PAX are loyal to specific workout locations (YHC included) and understandably so given proximity to our homes along with having individual workout preferences as well, but hopefully all PAX within the Rock Region from time to time can switch things up and post at BeTheChange on Wednesday mornings to establish a consistent F3 presence here.

Thank you for the opportunity to lead this morning Blueprint and Reborn! It was an honor and an absolute pleasure!
