Thank you to the 14 other PAX who showed up to The Tavern on this cool gloom to share in some great fellowship and nothing but a bootcamp. Thank you to Nightcrawler for allowing me to Q this morning and to the PAX who beat the fartsack to obtain some downpainment before their days began.
Just before 0515 we reviewed the 5 Core Principles of F3. After YHC gave the F3 Disclaimer, we started with the warmup.
We began the warmup with the following in cadence: Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Low Slow Squats, Peter Parker Peters, Merkins, and 10 6-Count Burpees.
After the warmup we took a short mosey to the back of Harris Teeter and performed 5 Burpees at each of the 5 lights. Then we took another mosey to the front of the store to begin the THANG.
YHC told the PAX we were going to get into the Christmas Spirit by doing the 12-Days of Christmas with some running. The PAX were to perform 1-rep of an exercise at the spot we were in, run up the hill to the end of the parking lot and run back. Then they were to perform 2-reps of the second exercise and 1-rep of the first exercise then run again. Then 3-reps of the third exercise, 2 of the second and one of the first . . . and so on. Always remembering to pick up the 6.
The exercises were as follows:
1-Wide Arm Merkin; 2-Big Boy Situps; 3-Kraken Burpees; 4-Carolina Dry Docks; 5-Diamond Merkins; 6-V—Ups; 7-Jump Squats; 8-Merkins; 9-Pike Presses; 10-Jump Lunges (Dbl. Count); 11-Dips; and 12-Mike Tysons.
Fantastic work was put in by all PAX in attendance today. Thank you for being there.
Have you as men taken the time since you have been a part of F3 (or not) to come up with a Word of the Year? I have had the opportunity to have one the past three years and my words have been: 2017-Love; 2018-Gratitude; 2019-Patience; 2020-Grace.
I want to challenge you men today to think about where you feel you need to grow most in your life. What are you being challenged with in your daily life? What are you struggling with the most? How do you react to stressful or tough situations? Examine yourself and your actions and reactions and come up with a word that you want to work on over the next year.
Then write it down and share it with a ShieldLock and M (even your 2.0’s) to hold you accountable. I guarantee if you go through this exercise, you will be challenged in your life in areas that pertain to that word, so be cautious of what you choose.
However, this will be one of the most challenging exercises you will partake in during the year of 2021. What is your Word of the Year for 2021?
