Thank you to the 12 other PAX who showed up at Old Town on this beautiful gloom to sharpen iron and push each other. It was a blessing to be back at this AO with my brothers and facing the gloom together and not alone.
We began the morning with the following in cadence: Side Straddle Hops, Imperial Walkers, Low Slow Squats, Peter Parker Peters, Merkins, and 10 6-Count Burpees.
First, we moseyed over to the amphitheater for some Irkins, Dips, Step-Ups, and Derkins in cadence (We did Regular, Wide Arm, and Diamond with short run around the amphitheater to give the arms a break).
Second, we took a mosey up the hill to Fountain Park where the PAX did 4 Corners around the park performing the following (all done in cadence due to low numbers and to stay together):
Corner 1-10 6-Count Burpees.
Corner 2-10 6-Count Burpees, 20 Merkins.
Corner 3-10 6-Count Burpees, 20 Merkins, 30 shoulder taps (double count).
Corner 4-10 6-Count Burpees, 20 Merkins, 30 shoulder taps, 40 Mountain Climbers (double count).
Finally, we took a mosey straight to the back side of the Hot Box where YHC led in a series of exercises (emphasizing good form) at this location and then run up the ramps and back down the stairs. Then rinse & repeat 3-more times. The Exercises are as below:
10 6-Count Hand Release Burpees; 10 Carolina Dry Docks (In Cadence); 5 Dan Taylors (Up to 5:20); 5 Spiderman Merkins (In Cadence); and 10 Lateral Lunges (Double Count).
Once we completed three rounds, we took a mosey back to the COT where YHC shared the following.
‘I was thinking on my stroll around Waukesha, Wisconsin today how grateful I am for you men who help push me to do hard things. 4-years ago when we met, I had resigned myself to obesity and the Sad Clown Syndrome. 2-years ago when I decided I was done with F3, you guys (some of whom have no idea how important you were to me) drug me back. 4-years ago I could not walk up one flight of stairs and today I walked a half marathon where I got stronger and faster the further I walked. I look forward to more hard stuff together in 2021 and beyond.’ Atticus
This was posted on Sunday by our brother Atticus. There are two key points in this post.
- You never may know the impact you have on others until years later. So, I encourage you to continue being the HIM you are called to be, and push each other physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Your actions and words will have an impact on others. Just be sure that those actions and words are leaving the Legacy you want to leave after you are gone.
- What are you accelerating towards? Atticus is looking forward to a 2021 and setting goals to achieve. Are you setting the goals you want to achieve, again physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually? Goals in your health, mammon, marriage, relationships, faith, etc. Have you shared those goals with others in your ShieldLock so they can hold you accountable? If not, why.
Great work was put in by all men today at Old Town. Fantastic work has been put in by all men in the Region in 2020. Now is the time to look forward to 2021 as Atticus is and seek greater things than you have achieved thus far.
