7 @ Eagle’s Nest for Anchor Bar’s Bag of Tricks and a Burpee Trail

    • When: 01/05/21
    • QIC: Anchor Bar
    • The PAX: Goldplate (R), Catfish, Money Bags (R), Darth, Buffet, PCH, Anchor Bar (R)

After the usual disclaimer was given and I gave a short intro to the word of the month, Identity.  We all have some identities in common whether it be father, dad, son, grandson or husband.  We also all have a cool F3 name.  By giving each pax an F3 name, it provides a sense of kinship or belonging.  I told the pax that I was interested in learning other nicknames that they might have had or still have and would be asking everyone to share at some point throughout the workout.

We got started with a few warmup exercises.

  • 15 Side Straddle Hops IC
  • 15 Imperial Walkers IC
  • 10 Windmills IC
  • 10 Cherry Pickers IC

We moseyed over to Alumni Drive a descending burpee trail.  We started with 10 burpees OYO and at every other light post we performed one less burpee.  We did this all the way down to one, except we did one extra burpee at the end to make our total 56 burpees.  This was the total number of points the Buffalo Bills scored on my Miami Dolphins.

When we finished, I found the strategically placed bags of disc golf discs that would be used for the next portion of the workout. One bag had a series of ab exercises while the other had arm exercises.

We moseyed over to one end of circular walkways between the amphitheater and the student union where we each took a turn pulling a disc from the bags and calling the exercise.  Each exercise was a 25 count and callers choice whether it was OYO or IC.  Between each exercise we moseyed to the other end of the two circles.  With about 7 minutes left we moseyed back to the COT.  We finished up with the two remaining ab exercises that didn’t get pulled from the bag.

I started the COT by explaining that there is one identity that we all share as Christians.  We are all called children of God as it is written in Galatians 3:26-29, So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.  There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male of female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

We finished with the name-o-rama, announcements and prayer requests & praises.

I closed us out with prayer.

As always it is an honor and privilege to lead.  Thank you for the opportunity, Goldplate.
