I probably have made the drive to OldTown close to 150 times over the past 3 years. Today was different. Different in the sense that I was heading to OldTown thinking about the countless conversations, laughs, moments, and memories made at this AO in the gloom and trying to remember who I was 3 years ago while reflecting on where I am now. As much as today was a marker on a timeline at OldTown it was more of a continuation of what has been and will be.

That’s when it hit me again that F3 is not about me. I mean it is about us (you) but only in as much as it is about each other…brothers of the gloom. And today was no different.

Lots of smiling faces were present, disclaimer was maybe given!?

Warm Up:

  • SSH
  • Moroccan Night Clubs
  • Imperial Walkers

We ran to the mini hotbox and found some wall:

  • People’s Chair
  • Head Shoulders Knees & Toes
  • Overhead Press
  • Head Shoulders Knees & Toes
  • Australian Mtn Climbers
  • Low Slow Squats

Mosey to the steps at City Hall:

1 BombJack at the bottom then 1 squat on each step until you reach the top. We did this sequence through 4. Lots of squats accomplished here.

We ran to fountain park where we did the following:

  • Karaoke
  • Butt Kickers
  • Calf Raises
  • Step Ups
  • Box Jumps
  • Dips

At this point of the workout Boomer took over with the following below:

“Mosied from fountain to OG hotbox and partnered up. 1st guy ran stairs all the way to the top and then ran back down. The 2nd guy stayed and did SSH’s until they returned.

Slow ascend to the top via bear crawl and Lt. Dan’s. Up one ramp via bear crawls. Stop do 30 LBCs in the turn then do Lt. Dan’s. Stop next curve for 30 LBCs. Rinse & repeat all the way to the top.

Mosey back down to the bottom
10 burpees bc of the train.”

YHC shared with the group that the gloom has become a family to me that is unbiased, always there, and forever welcoming. It is unlike anything else I am a part of in this world. I can find a smile, a word of encouragement, honesty, struggle, a like mind, or be the listening ear. There is no better way to start my day than the gloom.

As men we need this and always will. The gloom belongs to us! So keep on posting and being the HIM this world needs. Aye!
