Gentlemen, we have the awesome opportunity to serve in a different way again at Bethel Men’s Shelter in October. Bethel Men’s Shelter is hosting their one-day annual Love Our Neighbor BBQ sale on October 9 to raise community awareness of the homeless population around us, encourage and garner more volunteers, and to raise funds to increase their impact in the lives of the men they serve.
They are planning to have a virtual weeklong event with multiple ways to serve Bethel ending in a grand finale BBQ sale. By doing this they are hopefully opening the eyes of those in the community who are blind to the fact there are homeless men and women living in the streets of our county.
Each day from Oct. 3 through Oct. 8 a local restaurant will be hosting a ‘Spirit Night’ where a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Shelter. Restaurant locations are still to be determined, but the list I have seen looks great.
Secondly, businesses or individuals can sponsor the event by giving to Bethel Men’s Shelter financially. Donations of any amount are welcomed, and sponsorships are $500, $1000, $2000, $5000 or more if you so desire. Each level of sponsorship comes with perks such as BBQ Tickets, Men’s Shelter T-Shirts, and a business promo video posted on the Shelter Facebook page. Reach out to Reborn or Catfish for information on sponsorships.
Finally, there will be a curbside pickup BBQ sale at the neighboring church, Northside Baptist, on Oct. 9, 2020. This is where F3 can make the most IMPACT. Volunteers are needed throughout the day to pull, shred, and drill meat, serve as a runner, plate/pack food, curbside delivery, and cleanup after the event. Time slots are open from 0700-1600 and families are encouraged to volunteer.
So, with that being said, let us help make a difference in the community by taking our families out to eat during the week at the local restaurants, sponsoring the event, and signing up to serve on the 9rd of Oct. Sign up here. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0b4fadaa2aa4fd0-love1
